MEMBERSHIP CARE COMMITTEE

The Membership Care Committee shall notify the membership of additions or changes to the LAALRA membership, ensure that new members receive all pertinent LAALRA materials and information, and otherwise have the authority, with the consent of the Executive Board, to implement programs designed to assist new members in learning more about LAALRA and the legal recruiting practices in Southern California.

PROGRAM COMMITTEE, Amy Frechette, Chair

In efforts to enhance the professional growth and development of LAALRA members, the Program Committee shall arrange the programming for LAALRA's General Meetings, which will include selecting the topic and securing the guest speaker(s). The Program Committee will also work with the Executive Board and the Educational Retreat Committee to plan the bi-annual LAALRA Educational Retreat.

PUBLIC RELATIONS COMMITTEE

The Public Relations Committee shall monitor and suggest changes to LAALRA's website, and contact NALP with news and information about LAALRA as appropriate.

EDUCATION CONFERENCE COMMITTEE, Nisha Pecolatto, Chair

The Educational Retreat Committee shall work with the Executive Board and the Program Committee to plan all aspects of LAALRA's Educational Retreat, held bi-annually in the spring.

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE, Julie Inouye, Chair

The Diversity Committee shall work with law firm and law school professionals to develop and implement strategies to attract, retain, and develop diverse and talented lawyers.

POLICY WATCH COMMITTEE, Lorraine Connally, Chair

The Policy Watch Committee shall review and revise new and existing LAALRA policies and recommend changes to the Executive Board and membership.  They will also monitor and disseminate information regarding NALP policy changes to the membership.

Committee Formation

Committee members are appointed by the President with confirmation by the Executive Board. Every other year new committee members are appointed by the President.  All LAALRA members are encouraged to participate in various committees to foster camaraderie among its members while contributing to the success of the organization.  For specific information on the committee responsibilities, please refer to the LAALRA Bylaws and Constitution. Members may review and obtain a copy of the Bylaws and Constitution from the "Members Only" section.   If you are interested in serving on a committee for the upcoming term, please contact a member of the Board.
